Project #3 - Goals

At 18 I plan on graduating and moving myself to portland, I want to someday attend college and publish some books consisting of mostly poetry. I've got a lot of things in mind, I want to buy some land and farm, live just a subtle life. At this point, I don't really have concrete plans for the future, it's to much to think of right now. I just know I have a general outline for my life and i'm going to follow

Holland Reno Poem

This to those who said we were not Adequate enough,Smart enough,Strong enough
this is to those who feel their voices have been taken, and to those who's art wasn't high enough for gallery standards.
We've taken action, and we are here.
Don't allow waves od wrong words to drown out your abilities,
we are a youth run organization that silences the martyrs,
reinstates your voices, and puts your art into murals.
Take into your hands what you crave to create,
because creations cause movements
and movements cause change.
These social barriers are what break you down,
and programs like us build you up.

ID: Holland Project

The name of the class is posted above, "Holland Project". my teacher was Joe Ferguson. We started the year off with the goals to start and produce our own shows and to get involved with Holland Project. The class was about D.I.Y (doing it yourself) and accomplishing things you want to accomplish, publishing things you want to publish. It's learning about the youth run organization and keeping the space and collective going. It's about getting teens involved in something positive, not things such as Drugs, Alcohol, Sex, Ect..
One new topic that benifited me would have to have been project  #4 "How to put on Your Own Event / Putting on Your Own Event", it taught me a lot of useful tips on how to create an event and how to go about setting it up and things such as that. But the other topics themselves were a lot of fun and helped me grow in other areas. The class was challenging at some points, but other then that it was a very relaxed class that had me avidly working at things at all times. So I was never bored and always just enjoying myself. My least favorite topic would have been "Beautiful Losers" because I myself didn't get to watch the movie since I had been absent due to some family reasons.  My favorite topic was the zine, it was interesteing and helped my arts expand since I did a lot of new things within it. Lots of collages and lots of strange small poems and letters. It was a personal way of getting some things out, and it was a lot of fun.
I would of liked to learn something more about other cultures music scenes and things that occur other places and how they compare to ours. I wouldn't change much, this class is enjoyable and it's really grown on me. Some of the kids get on my nerves but at the same time they've grown on me and i've met some pretty radical kids I didn't think I would really talk to. I don't have any suggestions on changing this class, my suggestion would be to keep this class going and to just maybe add in some more awesome projects. Overall, this class has been my favorite yet at rainshadow, I feel I've really learned a lot this semester from this class and I would have to say it was nice. I enjoyed it.
